The Angels of God are ministering spirits sent to minister to the people of God. (Hebrews 1:13-14) The definition of minister is to give aid or service. Like the Angels did to Jesus after being tempted of the devil. Matthew 4:1-11 The Father sends His Angels to assist, help or serve His people when we call upon Him.

There is absolutely no reason for a child of God to fear the spirits of hell. Jesus said that we have been given power over all the power of the enemy and nothing shall by any means hurt you! Luke 10:19.

Using items of clothing:
Acts 19:12 described how items of clothing or cloths that had once been used by Paul had powers and were used to cure people suffering from diseases or evil spirits. This is where the belief of point of contact comes from. A cloth given which is a point of contact combined with the faith of the individual that Christ heals and sets free causes results.

Only Christians can perform exorcisms:
Acts 19:13 describes how 7 non-Christians attempted to exorcise demons in the name of Jesus and Paul. They failed. All were attacked and beaten by the demon-controlled man who ripped their clothes off.

Commanding in the name of Jesus:
After Jesus' death, burial and resurrection, exorcisms were done in the name of Jesus. Acts 16:16 described a slave girl who was possessed. Paul exorcised a "spirit of divination" from her. He commanded the spirit to leave "in the name of Jesus." Acts 19:13 described how some itinerant Jewish exorcists attempted to exorcise a demon saying "In the name of Jesus, whom Paul preaches, I command you to come out." They were unsuccessful, because they were not Christian believers.

Danger in exorcism:
In Acts 19:13, the demon-possessed man exhibited superhuman strength. He turned on 7 Jewish exorcists, beat them, and expelled them from the house with their clothes ripped off. The evil spirit had recognized that the exorcists were not Christian; he refused to follow their commands.

People that were sick went to the exorcist:
The sick were brought to the apostles; the apostles did not seek out the sick. With one exception, all were cured, whether they suffered from demon infestation or physical illness. Nobody in the Bible had a exorcism ministry.

Possession and exorcisms in the New Testament:
Numerous cases of demonic possession and exorcisms by Jesus and his disciples are reported in the Gospels and Acts. We can gather certain conclusions about the exorcism process from the Scriptures:

Cause of possession:
In the Bible, victims of possession are never held responsible for their situation. There are no references in the Christian Scriptures which imply that their possession was caused by some sin in their life. None of the victims were criticized for having allowed themselves to become possessed.

Animals can be possessed:
Matthew 8:30, and parallel passages, describe that demons can possess pigs.

Multiple possession:
Various passages refer to possession of a single individual by multiple demons. Luke 8:30 describes a man who was possessed by many demons; he used the term "legion" which was a unit of 6,000 soldiers.

Satan can give special powers:
In Acts 16:16 a woman was given the power to foretell the future by her indwelling evil spirit.

Illnesses and disorders generated by demons:
Luke 9:39 describes a case of epilepsy caused by a demon. Luke 11:14 documents a person who was unable to speak because of an indwelling demon. Luke 13:10-13 describes a woman who had been unable to straighten her back for almost 2 decades because of a evil spirit.

Demonic speech:
Numerous passages in the Bible describe indwelling demons speaking to the exorcist, by taking control of the individual's vocal chords.

Demons' strength:
Mark 5:4 describes how an indwelling spirit causes its victim to have superhuman strength, so that fetters and chains could not hold him.

Demons vary in wickedness:
Matthew 12:45 describes how a spirit left a person, but returned with seven others who were more wicked than the original spirit was. Satan and his demons are living entities who roam around the world looking for people to torment and destroy.

Exorcisms were usually easy to perform:
With one exception, Jesus or an apostle simply ordered the evil spirit to depart, and the demon immediately complied.

Some exorcisms require special preparation:
Jesus' disciples were unable to rid a boy of an evil spirit that was causing the child to be both mute and epileptic. Jesus cured the child and explained that the only way to rid a person of this type of demon was through prior prayer and fasting.

Return of demons:
Matthew 12:43 describes a demon who left a man, because of an exorcism. He returned later with seven other evil spirits to repossess the person. There is no mention of any of the exorcisms by Jesus or his followers having produced only temporary cures. Yet Jesus made this statement to let us know that the person was delivered from the demon. Secondly it left and joined with 7 other demons more wicked and found the house or body of that person clean, swept and garnished. They enter and the second state of that person was worse than the first. Obviously something was not done correctly or not completed. For the person to remain delivered they must accept Christ and His Spirit, because as a sinner the door has been opened already and entrance is inevitable by these demons.

Exorcism can be performed according to another's faith:
In Mark 9:18, Jesus explained to a man that all things are possible, including the exorcism of his son, to those who believe.

Possession is still common:
Demon possession and the necessity for exorcism is as valid today as it was in 1st century Palestine. Many people who are being treated by psychiatrists and psychologists and other therapist are in fact demon possessed and can only be cured by exorcism. Uncounted millions of dollars are being wasted by the mental health profession in useless, or even dangerous therapy.

Demonic possession, demonic oppression:
Acts 10:38 mentions oppression by Satan which is different than possession. A person who is oppressed by a demon is having his behavior influenced in one area of his life - e.g. not being able to resist alcohol. They are harassed but are not actually possessed by demons. Oppression has different causes, such as looking at pornography, religious involvements, such as: false religions, cults, chanting, non-Christian meditation, etc. personality factors, such as: poor self-image, jealousy, bad temper, rebellion, etc. Oppression can lead to possession.

Satan is the god of this world:
Satan rules the airwaves, media, and Hollywood. He "has an overwhelming influence over world politics and various religions.

Symptoms of oppression:
Abnormal and irrational fear, anxiety & loneliness; lack of goals; depression; lack of logical reasoning ability, seeking power and control; etc.

Symptoms of possession:
Uncontrolled swearing, extreme physical strength; unexpectedly high IQ; intense negative reaction when Jesus' name is spoken; multiple personalities; extreme fear in the presence of Christians; violent behavior; life-threatening behavior; exhibiting paranormal abilities, severe depression; etc. Causes of possession: activities, such as: extreme cases of sexual immorality; rebelliousness; blasphemy; taking tests for ESP or other paranormal abilities; involvement in astrology; going to fortune tellers; either owning or using "occultic" charms, talismans, written material, music, etc.

Demonic Interference:
Demons are believed to interfere in one of two ways with their victims: They can cause an obsession, in which the demon fills the mind of its victim with evil thoughts. The second is possession in which the devil physically takes over the human body. Various signs of demonic possession are: errors in belief, deceptions, falsehoods, lies, and confusion, "speaking with a great number of words from unknown languages, or understanding them, making known things either distant or hidden, showing strength beyond one's situation, together with vehement aversion towards God the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit, or even the things of God.

The devil's presence is seen in the widespread acceptance of "lies and deceit ... the idolatry of money ... the idolatry of sex..."The presence of the devil...explains the dramatic condition of the world. Satan and his demons can do real spiritual damage to humans who are not filled by and, therefore, protected by the power of the Holy Spirit. Satan's main offense consists of getting as many people as possible to reject the salvation of Jesus Christ and be damned to the punishment of hell forever.

All serial killers and serial arsonists are demon possessed. Intermittent demon possession is a cause of spousal abuse. Suicide is associated with demon possession. When two people are both demon possessed, they may have a lustful affinity for each other which defies all logic. Often, demon-induced lust leads to murder and irrational shoplifting.

Childhood learning disabilities, behavioral problems, various physical illnesses and some mental illnesses are the result of oppression.

Demons possess houses as well as humans:
A haunted house many be a "nesting place" of evil spirits.

Demonic games:
Certain games can lead to demonic involvement: Ouija boards, dungeons and dragons and other role playing games, etc. Many computer software games are extremely occultic and dangerous.

Other demonic interference:
Multiple Personality Disorder (a.k.a. Dissociative Identity Disorder) High indication of possession. False memories can be implanted by demons in the mind of a person undergoing recovered memory therapy. Spontaneous Human Combustion is totally demonic. Foul and abusive language in a voice that is different from the victim's normal voice is a strong indication of possession.

Activities that can actively draw demons to the individual(s) involved are: Illicit sex. Homosexual sex. Viewing pornography. Using mind-altering drugs. Hypnosis.

Music:
Listening to rock, country, rap and some Christian music, particularly if the musicians are themselves involved with demons can draw spirits. Songs that talk about adultry, lust, murder, suicide or the occult can lead the way to involvement in these for the weak minded. Some Christian music can offer false teachings and involvement in activities not becoming of Christians. There is wholesome Country, Rock, and Christian music that in no way could be demonic. Our concern is the lyrics and the direction the song takes. Be mature and use common sense.

Professions:
Certain professions, roles and tasks that can cause demon possession and or oppression are leaders of religious cults. All Satan worshipers will eventually be demon possessed and if not will be destroyed in hell unless there is a turn to Christ. An interest in astrology and horoscopes is a leading cause of the doctrine of devils.

Psychics, including psychic hotlines, and psychics that aid in police investigations are demonic. Occultic activities and organizations e.g.tarot cards, Ouija board, I Ching, palm or tea-leaf reading, biorhythm charts, casting runes, numerology. Included are a number of religions and spiritual paths: Christian Science, Eckankar, Hare Krishna, Santeria, Scientology, Unification Church, Witchcraft/Wicca. These all lead to the opening of a demonic door.

People believing the teachings or doctrine of demons:
Mormons, Jehovah Witnesses, Oneness believers (UPC) Muslims, Buddist.
The gospels describe that during Jesus' ministry, demons would possess people and generate physical and mental illnesses. Paul wrote of a much larger scope of activity on the part of demonic spirits. In 2 Corinthians 11:13-15, he warned that servants of Satan (demon possessed individuals) pretended to be apostles of Christ, even while spreading errors and discord. 1 Timothy 4:1 and 2 Timothy 4:3-4 are other passages suggesting that the doctrines of demons will be widespread. Seminary professors, Ministers and lay people who support equal ordination opportunities for gays, lesbians.

The number of demons has been the same since the casting down. Each demon has many more individuals to possess today than they did in times past. Being created beings, demons are capable of being in only one place at one time. Thus they must "time share" the humans assigned to them. That is, they concentrate on tormenting one person, then travel at a high speed to another person and torment them. They are able to travel between victims at the speed of light. This is why murderers, child molesters or spouse abusers can engage in criminal acts one moment, and be totally calm and rational a few seconds before and after.

Deliverance from demonic possession:
The person must be saved and filled with the Holy Spirit. They must pray to God "for the power of the shed blood of Jesus Christ to cover" them and find a Spirit filled church to help them after deliverance and attend it regularly. The person should anticipate resistance by the demon(s); they might not want to leave easily and expect that the demon(s) might try to repossess them. You should pray regularly and read the Bible daily.

Christians can open themselves up to possession by not obeying God's Word. When the Holy Spirit enters a person, a demon cannot simultaneously possess them. However, a Christian can open a demonic door by their involvement in things condemned by God. You can easily find out whether a particular spirit has come from God or Satan: simply ask him to say "Jesus is Lord of All." If he is unable or unwilling to say the phrase, then this is a strong indication an evil spirit is present. Yet not necessarily. Demons will mockingly say things you want them to say. Satan tricks people into creating ministries that focus in on one thing. This keeps them from preaching the Gospel and doing God's complete work. Casting out demons from a possessed unsaved person is dangerous because it may lead to them being possessed worse than before.

The person must get saved. The Holy Spirit then helps us to prevent a repossession. Christians should concentrate on preaching the gospel, not in seeking out people to exorcise. A person who is possessed is unable to resist the instructions of the demon.

Secular, skeptical and religiously liberal beliefs are doctrine of devils:
Secular, skeptical and religiously liberal groups and individuals have long given up any belief in Satan; his demons; demon possession as a cause of mental and physical illness; and the need for exorcism. Few pay any attention to these topics today. Most regard alleged demonic possession as being rooted in brain disorders, like epilepsy or Tourette's syndrome; mental illnesses, such as schizophrenia; or "people whose brains are more or less healthy but who are unfortunate enough to be sucked into playing a social role with very unpleasant consequences." Kids enjoy being scared by evil spirits, "Witches," skeletons, haunted houses, ghosts, etc. at Halloween. But most "believe" in these entities in the same way that they believe in Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny - as an amusing fable. This is the danger of the secular world today.

How are you fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how are you cut down to the ground, which did weaken the nations!
For you have said in your heart, I will go up into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
I will go up above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the Most High.

They that see you will narrowly look upon you, and consider you, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake the kingdoms;
That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of the prisoners?

The enemy of our souls is using a new twist on an old lie, exploiting the current interest in angels to attract the untaught and the undiscerning. Much of the current angel mania is simply New Age philosophy, which is actually old-fashioned pantheism. Pantheism is the belief that everything--an impersonal God as well as every part of the creation--is one big unity. All is one, God is one, we are God--and New Age philosophy throws reincarnation into the mix as well.

Some self-styled "angel experts" instruct their followers to love their angels and call upon them for health, healing, prosperity, and guidance. But angels are God's servants, and all this attention and emphasis and glory should go to God, not His servants. God says, "and my glory will I not give to another" (Isaiah 42:8). Scripture makes no mention of loving angels--only God, His word, and people. And it never tells us to pray to angels, only to the Lord Himself.

We need to remember that God's angels are not teachers. God's word says they are messengers--that's what "angel" means--and they minister to us. God has revealed to us everything we need for life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3), so any hidden knowledge that spirit beings try to impart is by nature occultic and demonic.

Those that practice exorcisms without the intervention of the Godhead are placing themselves in a very dangerous situation. This is where the bible speaks of familiar spirits. These are spirits that certain people that practice the hundreds of different forms of the occult can speak to and communicate events and times. Many phone psychics are phoney, but there are some who have learned to tap into the spirit realm. These are the dangerous ones.

Angels are spirits and Lucifer and the other angels that were cast out of heaven to this earth under chains of darkness are the demons, evil spirits, familiar spirits, devils, unclean spirits we face today. They are not the spirits of the dead.

The spirits of dead people who died without Christ go directly to hell under the power of Lucifer to be punished. They will not be walking around in grave yards. Demons however will and do have access to all areas of this world.

In 1 Samuel 28 we find Saul seeking a woman with a familiar spirit. Endor the witch was asked to bring up Samuel the prophet. She, in reality brought up a demonic spirit. Remember,God would not answer Saul by dreams, visions, Urim and Thummim, or by prophets. If God refused to answer Saul by legitimate means then He certainly would not answer contrary to scripture. The bible teaches that communication with the dead are in reality familiar spirits imitating departed loved ones.

It is no wonder that people who seek information from a real pshchic get shocking results. This is truly satanic and against God's Word. DO NOT DO IT!

People involved in the occult will sooth the spirit and cannot cast it out. They will be able to bring calm by many different means but true deliverance and freedom comes from Christ. Drugs will even give the impression of deliverance yet be aware that this type of treatment can cause multiple avenues of further widespread psychogenesis.

1 Cor 10:20 But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to DEMONS, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with DEMONS.

1 Cor 10:21 Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of DEMONS: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of DEMONS.

1 Tim 4:1 Now the SPIRIT speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing SPIRITS, and doctrines of DEMONS;

James 2:19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the DEMONS also believe, and tremble.

Rev 9:20 And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship DEMONS, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk:

Rev 16:14 For they are the SPIRITS of DEMONS, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.

Rev 18:2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of DEMONS, and the hold of every FOUL SPIRIT, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.

UNCLEAN SPIRIT

Zech 13:2 And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD of hosts, that I will cut off the names of the idols out of the land, and they shall no more be remembered: and also I will cause the prophets and the UNCLEAN SPIRIT to pass out of the land.

Matt 12:43 When the UNCLEAN SPIRIT is gone OUT of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none.

Mark 1:23 And there was in their synagogue a man with an UNCLEAN SPIRIT; and he cried out,

Mark 1:26 And when the UNCLEAN SPIRIT had torn him, and cried with a loud voice, he came OUT of him.

UNCLEAN SPIRITS

Matt 10:1 And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against UNCLEAN SPIRITS, to cast them OUT, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.

Mark 1:27 And they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying, What thing is this? what new doctrine is this? for with authority commandeth he even the UNCLEAN SPIRITS, and they do obey him.

Mark 3:11 And UNCLEAN SPIRITS, when they saw him, fell down before him, and cried, saying, Thou art the Son of God.

Mark 5:13 And forthwith JESUS gave them leave. And the UNCLEAN SPIRITS went OUT, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea, (they were about two thousand;) and were choked in the sea.

Mark 6:7 And he called unto him the twelve, and began to send them forth by two and two; and gave them power over UNCLEAN SPIRITS;

Luke 4:36 And they were all amazed, and spake among themselves, saying, What a word is this! for with authority and power he commandeth the UNCLEAN SPIRITS, and they come OUT.

Rev 16:13 And I saw three UNCLEAN SPIRITS like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.

FOUL SPIRIT

Mark 9:25 When JESUS saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the FOUL SPIRIT, saying unto him, Thou DUMB AND DEAF SPIRIT, I charge thee, come OUT of him, and enter no more into him.

FAMILIAR SPIRIT

Lev 20:27 A man also or woman that hath a FAMILIAR SPIRIT, or that is a wizard, shall surely be put to death: they shall stone them with stones: their blood shall be upon them.

FAMILIAR SPIRITS

Lev 19:31 Regard not them that have FAMILIAR SPIRITS, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am the LORD your God.

Lev 20:6 And the soul that turneth after such as have FAMILIAR SPIRITS, and after wizards, to go a whoring after them, I will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people.

Deut 18:11 Or a charmer, or a consulter with FAMILIAR SPIRITS, or a wizard, or a necromancer.

1 Sam 28:3 Now Samuel was dead, and all Israel had lamented him, and buried him in Ramah, even in his own city. And Saul had put away those that had FAMILIAR SPIRITS, and the wizards, out of the land.

1 Sam 28:9 And the woman said unto him, Behold, thou knowest what Saul hath done, how he hath cut off those that have FAMILIAR SPIRITS, and the wizards, out of the land: wherefore then layest thou a snare for my life, to cause me to die?

II Ki 21:6 And he made his son pass through the fire, and observed times, and used enchantments, and dealt with FAMILIAR SPIRITS and wizards: he wrought much wickedness in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.

II Ki 23:24 Moreover the workers with FAMILIAR SPIRITS, and the wizards, and the images, and the idols, and all the abominations that were spied in the land of Judah and in Jerusalem, did Josiah put away, that he might perform the words of the law which were written in the book that Hilkiah the priest found in the house of the LORD.

Isa 8:19 And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have FAMILIAR SPIRITS, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead?

Isa 19:3 And the SPIRIT OF EGYPT shall fail in the midst thereof; and I will destroy the counsel thereof: and they shall seek to the idols, and to the charmers, and to them that have FAMILIAR SPIRITS, and to the wizards.

SPIRIT OF JEALOUSY

Num 5:14 And the SPIRIT OF JEALOUSY come upon him, and he be jealous of his wife, and she be defiled: or if the SPIRIT OF JEALOUSY come upon him, and he be jealous of his wife, and she be not defiled:

Num 5:30 Or when the SPIRIT OF JEALOUSY cometh upon him, and he be jealous over his wife, and shall set the woman before the LORD, and the priest shall execute upon her all this law.

EVIL SPIRITS

Luke 7:21 And in that same hour he cured many of their infirmities and plagues, and of EVILSPIRITS; and unto many that were blind he gave sight.

Acts 19:12 So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the EVIL SPIRITS went OUT of them.

Acts 19:13 Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had EVIL SPIRITS the name of the Lord JESUS, saying, We adjure you by JESUS whom Paul preacheth.

SPIRITS

Matt 12:45 Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other SPIRITS more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.

Luke 10:20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the SPIRITS are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.

Luke 11:26 Then goeth he, and taketh to him seven other SPIRITS more wicked than himself; and they enter in, and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first.
