Who Are You?

I'm Black? I'm White? I'm Brown?

Guess what, Your human. It doesn't matter if your black, white, brown or any other color, God created you. Follow everyone of us back and guess where you end up. You will go directly back to Noah. The whole earth had been flooded and every living thing including the human race (except Noah and his family) was destroyed. Then from Noah go back all the way to the beginning of mankind and you will no doubt come to the garden of eden and Eve then Adam, the first human. We are all from the same Creator, "God". Genesis 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. The bible does not say black, white, or brown. It says man! We are all alike, except the color of our skin. However on the inside we are all the same.

What about Cain's wife?

Notice that in Genesis that man began to multiply on the face of the earth. There were other cities and many people over time. Man's life span was extremely long and man was able to have extremely large families. Therefore when Cain got his wife she was of the land of Nod at the east side of Eden. This woman was probably someone Cain had never met. They fell in love and married and had a family.

What about the mark placed on Cain?

Many people have said that the mark placed on Cain was that God made him black. I have a problem with this belief because first of all, the bible clearly states "a mark". That means that he still looked the same except for the mark placed on him. Second and most importantly, this mark placed on Cain was out of Love. The Heavenly Father put the mark on Cain to protect him. Genesis 4:15And the LORD said unto him, Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. And the LORD set a mark upon Cain, lest any finding him should kill him.

Why are people different colors then?

The Song of Solomon gives us a clue as to the reason some people are darker than others. Song of Solomon 1:6 Look not upon me, because I am black, because the sun hath looked upon me: my mother's children were angry with me; they made me the keeper of the vineyards; but mine own vineyard have I not kept.
Do we sense a little racism here, because of the darker color?
Because of the sun she was black! It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that if you stay out of the sun you will be lighter than the people who are always in the sun. Also with the different foods, berries, plants, herbs that we eat, even suntan lotion and other things we rub on our bodies help to darken or lighten our skin. These all contribute to our appearance. This is also why some races may have a health problem different than others. Due to different climates and foods.

Doesn't the bible say we are not to have interracial marriages?

When the Lord spoke to Abraham in Genesis 24:1 And Abraham was old, and well stricken in age: and the LORD had blessed Abraham in all things.
2 And Abraham said unto his eldest servant of his house, that ruled over all that he had, Put, I pray thee, thy hand under my thigh:
3 And I will make thee swear by the LORD, the God of heaven, and the God of the earth, that thou shalt not take a wife unto my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I dwell:
4 But thou shalt go unto my country, and to my kindred, and take a wife unto my son Isaac.

Why would Abraham insist on not taking a wife of the Canaanites? The Canaanites were heathens who did not know God and their beliefs would influence Isaac and possibly turn him from God. Abraham was protecting the spiritual well being of Isaac. It had nothing to do with the color of the skin. Remember Moses's wife was an Ethiopian woman and Mariam and Aaron had problems with it, but notice God had no problem with it. Numbers Chapter 12:1 And Miriam and Aaron spake against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman whom he had married: for he had married an Ethiopian woman.
2 And they said, Hath the LORD indeed spoken only by Moses? hath he not spoken also by us? And the LORD heard it.
3 (Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.)
4 And the LORD spake suddenly unto Moses, and unto Aaron, and unto Miriam, Come out ye three unto the tabernacle of the congregation. And they three came out.
5 And the LORD came down in the pillar of the cloud, and stood in the door of the tabernacle, and called Aaron and Miriam: and they both came forth.
6 And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the LORD will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream.
7 My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all mine house.
8 With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the LORD shall he behold: wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?
9 And the anger of the LORD was kindled against them; and he departed.
10 And the cloud departed from off the tabernacle; and, behold, Miriam became leprous, white as snow: and Aaron looked upon Miriam, and, behold, she was leprous.
11 And Aaron said unto Moses, Alas, my lord, I beseech thee, lay not the sin upon us, wherein we have done foolishly, and wherein we have sinned.
12 Let her not be as one dead, of whom the flesh is half consumed when he cometh out of his mother's womb.
13 And Moses cried unto the LORD, saying, Heal her now, O God, I beseech thee.
14 And the LORD said unto Moses, If her father had but spit in her face, should she not be ashamed seven days? let her be shut out from the camp seven days, and after that let her be received in again.
15 And Miriam was shut out from the camp seven days: and the people journeyed not till Miriam was brought in again.
16 And afterward the people removed from Hazeroth, and pitched in the wilderness of Paran.

The problem with racism today is ignorance, jelousy, hatred and fear. Our Father in Heaven is none of these and strickly commands us to love all people. We can love all people and not love their actions, and never react as they do. Christ died for all people, even the racist (if you have a problem with a racist then witness the love of Jesus to him or her). We should show our love by doing everything within our power to end racism. You might ask how? Realize that we all need a Savior! Don't hate someone just because their different or even because they hate you. What if we all looked like you, we would all be beautiful or handsome and we would all look alike, and that would get pretty boring and quite confusing after awhile. Thank God, we look different! Variety is Great, think about it. What if all the trees and the flowers looked the same, or all the cars and trucks, or only one type of cold drink or chips. It would make the world a boring place, but Almighty God created all things different and knew man would change in color over time. (Remember Noah and his son's were the same color) He put in us the ability to create things different too. That's why we build different type houses, clothes, cars and other things. Let's be color blind and work together.

Rev. Fred Padgett

The Story Behind Faith Church In Action

In 1989 the Lord led Reverend Fredrick Padgett to begin a church. From a small store front building on May 13, 1990 Faith Church In Action was born. After about 4 months the church expanded and took over 2 other buildings. The Spirit of Almighty God was so powerful in every service. Growing out of these three buildings Faith Church In Action moved to a large church building that was about to be condemed by the city of Dallas. Everyone worked so hard day and night and left the church numerous times after midnight. After about 6 months we met our first challenge. The church that owned the one we were in wanted to sell after we had brought it up to standards. They had a buyer who wanted the church immediately. They demanded we come up with several thousand dollars to put down for purchase or they would sell to this other church wanting the building. We had spent most of our money to repair the church building and was unable to come up with that much money. We asked them for 6 months to raise the money and the church wanting the building would not wait that long so they gave us 3 days. We had to move.

Where would we move? No one knew. We began to pray and God sent a man our way who had a store front building he wanted to sell so with 2000.00 down we were moved in within the week.

Once again the power of God was so great! I remember one night the fire department was called out to a fire at our building while we were having services. There was no fire except the fire of God. We began to have fundraisers of all types to raise money for a church building. Over a period of 2 years we raised 12,000.00 which we put down on the building we are now in. We have worked very hard for everything with determination, perseverance and the help of the Lord. There are many incidents, too numerous to mention that set us back, but we never gave up. Our enemy many times was other believers. I had to learn the hard way that a hand shake was not enough. The devil is not the only one that will steal, kill, and destroy. But it all comes down to, "who do you serve"? With many short nights and many long days our God has seen us through. The Lord Jesus was our strength and salvation. We owe all that we have to the Lord! Be bold, be strong, for the Lord Our God is with you. God Bless You.
